Heidi was published by Swiss writer Johanna Spyri in two volumes in 1880-1881. Originally written in German it has been translated into more than fifty languages. Orphaned Heidi was sent to the Swiss mountains to live with her grandfather. Readers enjoy Heidi’s adventures with her childlike faith and love for people while learning about walking by faith in trusting in God.

Our literature guides assist parents and teachers to delight in classic literature through a Christian Worldview. Young readers engage in timeless stories which communicate truth, goodness, and beauty. These stories shape moral imagination and literary understanding as students reflect with discussion, writing and hands-on activities. With decades of teaching and curriculum writing experience, our literature guides were created with the best practices of reading research as we use the Bible as the standard of Truth.
